Tenneco Inc.

Quality Engineer Co-op/Trainee

I am currently working as a quality engineer trainee in a OE automotive suspension manufacturing plant - Tenneco, Inc. My primary job is to provide support for all different teams starting from stamping, tubing, rods until the final assembly and shipping it to the customer. To design and validate manufacturing documents such as FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis, control plans, quality alerts, visual aids, etc.
Alongside I have also did a few personal projects within the plant. My first project was a scrap reduction process in one of the cut-off machine which will reduces the scrap by almost 40% and increase the overall production by a minimum of 2% per shift. Another major project was to identify the root cause and provide a solution for an issue within the assembly process. The root cause was identified and technical solution was framed thus eliminating the error.
Apart from this I have also taken part in designing a few gauges for error proofing in the manufacturing process.

Western Michigan University

Research Assistant

I worked in my university Automotive Lab as a research assistant under Prof. Zach Asher and Prof. Richard Meyer for different autonomous self-driving vehicle projects representing my university. I worked for the Michigan Mobility Challenge which is an Autonomous airport shuttle with teleoperations for the North American International Auto show. I worked under the team responsible for sensor fusion which is a fusion of RADAR, LIDAR, Camera and GPS data for different autonomous operations. I was responsible mainly for predicting and programming waypoint following to derive the path. Another project that I was a part of was the Indy Autonomous Challenge which is an Autonomous racing challenge organized by the Indianapolis Motor speedway.
